Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about using our platform. Whether it's about creating your profile, applying for jobs, or contacting employers – we've gathered the most important information for you. Take a look and quickly find the answers you need.   1. What is WORK4KIDS?

    WORK4KIDS is a free service for job seekers, operated by LITTLE BIRD GmbH. On our website, you can upload your resume, subscribe to job alert emails, search and save job listings, and apply directly. We list job opportunities for educational professionals from employers in the childcare sector. Employers can post jobs that may not be available anywhere else directly on WORK4KIDS.
    Our website also includes a section for company profiles where you can learn more about your potential future employer.

  2. Creating or Logging into an Account

    You can create a free account with WORK4KIDS to access all job board services – like creating a resume, applying for jobs, setting up job alerts, or saving favorite listings. You’ll need a valid email address and a self-selected password (both can be changed later in your profile). After accepting our terms and privacy policy, click “Register” to create your account. You can complete your profile after registration.
    If you already have an account, log in using your email address and password.

  3. Verifying Your Account

    After creating your account, you'll automatically receive a welcome email with a verification link (check your spam folder if needed). You can only use all WORK4KIDS services after clicking this link. If the email didn’t arrive or you deleted it, you can request a new confirmation email by logging into your account and clicking “Resend” in the job management dashboard.

  4. Changing My Login Details

    To change your email address or password, log into your WORK4KIDS account. Click the black circle with your initials in the top-right corner, then click “My Account.” In your settings, you can edit your email or password (your current email or password is required for security reasons). Confirm changes or cancel at any time.

  5. I Can’t Log into My WORK4KIDS Account

    If you’re unable to log in because you forgot your password, click “Reset your password” at the bottom of the login page. Enter the email address linked to your account. A reset link will be sent to your inbox (check spam folder too). Click the link to reset your password and regain access.

  6. How Do I Search for Jobs / Employers?

    Use the quick search on the homepage to find jobs based on title, skills, company name, or field. Use filters under “Find Jobs” to refine your search.
    On the “Discover Companies” page, you can search specifically for employers in your area. Company profiles also show all of their current job listings.

  7. Activating or Stopping Job Alerts

    Set up custom job alerts by selecting your filters under “Find Jobs” and activating the “Job Alert for this search” switch. You must be logged in with a WORK4KIDS account to do this. You’ll receive matching job offers weekly via email.
    To change the frequency or stop alerts, go to your account under “My Job Alerts” and choose daily, weekly, monthly, or none – or delete the alert entirely. You can have multiple alerts active at once.

  8. Saving Jobs to Your Favorites List

    To save interesting jobs, click the star icon next to the job title in search results or the “Save” button in the job detail view. You must be logged in to save jobs.
    Your saved jobs are listed in your account under “My Saved Jobs.” To remove a job, click the star or “Saved” button again and confirm the deletion.

  9. How Do I Apply for a Job on WORK4KIDS?

    Click on a job that interests you and then click “Apply.” There are two application types: direct application via WORK4KIDS or redirection to the employer’s website – depending on the employer’s preference.
    In a direct application, you can write a message or upload a cover letter as a file. You can also upload other attachments like your resume, certificates, and documents.
    Click “Apply” to complete your submission. Your profile and documents are only visible to employers if you’ve set your profile to visible.

  10. Profile & Preferences: What Information is Shared with Employers?

    In “My Resume,” you can enter and update your personal data, job preferences, qualifications, experience, and skills.
    Fields marked with a lock icon are only visible to companies you’ve applied to or accepted contact from.
    Your resume is visible to employers only if you mark it as visible. By default, your resume is hidden. You can change this anytime. You’ll need to verify your account first (see question 3).
    Employers do not have access to your search history, job alerts, or saved job list.

  11. Uploading and Managing a Resume File

    During registration, you can upload your resume (doc, docx, or pdf). You can also skip this step.
    Later, go to “My Resume” and upload a file under “Upload Resume.” The system will analyze the file and prefill your online resume.
    The file will appear under “Documents” with an envelope icon. Click the “x” to delete it. The extracted data will remain and can be edited via the pencil icons.

  12. Uploading and Submitting a Cover Letter

    Click “Apply” on a job. If the application is via WORK4KIDS, you’ll be taken to a page where you can write or upload your cover letter (PDF). A pre-written message is included but can be customized.

  13. Uploading Certificates, Diplomas, and Other Relevant Documents

    In “My Resume” under “Documents,” you can upload all relevant files (doc, docx, pdf, jpg, png).
    Documents are only visible to employers if your profile is marked as visible. Otherwise, upload them manually when applying.

  14. Application Overview

    Log into your account and go to “Applications.” Sort by job title or date.
    Click on an entry to see your submitted cover letter.
    Only applications submitted via our form are tracked. External applications via employer websites are not listed. We recommend keeping a personal list for those.

  15. What Happens After I Apply?

    The employer receives your application and will contact you. This may take some time – we have no influence on the timeline and cannot provide updates.

  16. How Do I Withdraw an Application?

    There’s no system option to withdraw an application. Please contact the employer directly to cancel your submission.

  17. Deleting My Account

    Log into your account, click the black circle with your initials, then “My Account.”
    Click “Delete Account” to permanently remove your data. This cannot be undone. You can create a new account at any time.

    We take data protection seriously. All data is processed in compliance with current privacy regulations.
